New to the forum so there are probably numerous threads dealing with this but where do I start so I'll ask anyway, it might even be useful for other newer members. I've got a 2003 CLK with Comand2 which works perfectly, hmm as perfectly as it was intended probably but it's not a patch on more up to date systems so I'm looking at swapping it out. Now I say I'm looking at swapping it out, not strictly true - I'm looking at paying someone to swap it out for me. Initially I was tempted by units on that dreaded auction site which are direct replacements for the old one but have bluetooth, more up to date sat nav system and are generally more user friendly. Speaking to a local installer he advised against these and tells me that Pioneer and Alpine also do a direct replacement so not sticking out bits, cutting on lovely veneered panels and everything connected to the steering wheel controls as it should.
Question is does anybody out there in MBClubWorld have any experience of any of these things? Opinions are always good too, apparently I have too many of my own already - according to the current, future, ex Mrs E anyway.
