Hi there,I have a 2008 W211 E class with Comand and want to upgrade the current map disc in the unit in the boot - I believe I have a NTG 2 system (there is a CD slot above the screen) but when I took the disc out of the unit it has printed on it Europe A 211 827 10 65, B6 782 3855 Version 7.0 which I think is an NTG1 disc.Which Europe disc can I upgrade to for an NTG 2 E class without having to have software upgrades?
Many thanks

last one for the ntg1 is the v10, you cant use ntg2 map disks

I think I have the NTG 2 system because it doesn't play DVD's

do u have an sd card slot above the dvd slot? if so then u have a ntg2, if not then its ntg1

The unit with sd card slot is NTG2.5 found in MY09> cars. You dont have that as wouldnt have a nav processor in the boot if you did.

The previous unit up until MY09 is NTG1 which is what you have. NTG2 wasnt fitted to the w211 e-class and it doesnt have a seperate nav processor like the NTG1.

As others say, you have NTG1 characterised mainly by the separate navigation drive.

Being a W211 this means your head unit should play DVDs (and MP3s on the DVD if in the correct folder format). If it doesn't, a trip to the dealer is due as its still under warranty.

Hi sorry i've not replied sooner - but i still think i have the ntg2 unit because i have a 6 cd changer and this means the navigation unit has to be in the boot - is this why it has a ntg1 disc?

NTG2 doesnt have a seperate nav processor. It is all built into the headunit. Only the NTG1 has a nav processor in the boot. You have the nav processor in the boot and it has a NTG1 disc. So how can you think you have a NTG2 which was not even fitted to the e-class and is physically a different size and shape and wouldnt use a nav processor as the headunit takes the navigation disc.
