My car has swirl marks on it which are noticable in the sun from certain angles, But thats mainly because I bought the car 3 years old and I don't think the previous owner had ever washed it properly, just used car washes .
I suspect the same thing of both mercs I have owned, both were ex-fleet cars, so maintenance-wise you can't fault them, all dealership work etc, but because the driver didn't actually *own* the car, they tend to be less bothered with washing it.

Try comparing obsidian metallic black (197) with straight black (040). They look so similar it makes you wonder if it's worth paying for metallic, 99% of the time they will look the same.

about the engine, no doubt Mits. is GOOD at it "NOT the GDi engine"
but...
will a C200K lost its "soul" due to the Japs engine?
seems that a sweet torque curve is one of the "trade mark" of German engine.

I rather agree. One of the reasons I bought my Merc was that it was German engineering. I would be rather disappointed if I found out the engine of my new car was not a mercedes engine (no matter how good it was) If I wanted a Japenese car I would have bought a Honda.

maybe a rather silly point of view but there you are :)
