Far too much condensation forming at the sight of rain-95 w124 E 280- has air con but I don't want to have to use it all the time- any ideas appreciated?

why not use the aircon? if you don't regularly use the aircon, you just end up with corrosion in the condenser and pipes.

Thanks- the air con unit on a W124 is like a separate engine and uses about the same fuel! But I will run it constantly for a week or 2 to see- cheers

Check for water leaks/dampness in the interior as that will cause excessive condensation.

Air con worked very well through the summer there and no condensation problems last year

Both the windows in boot are leaking into storage areas at side of boot- at least I know what problem is!

Common problem. You might solve it with something like Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack Cure. Ultimately new seals are available from MB but not cheap.

May be a stupid question but do you put the sealant down the window side of the seal or the bodywork side or both?

Not entirely sure. I got some but then decided to change the seal. Also check the window frame as this can be corroded. I was lucky that ours was ok.

The seal itself doesn't leak. The joins between the seal and the bodywork, and the seal and the glass, leak. #1 spot is the join in the the lower window edge about 3" forward of the rear corner

Some cars leak under the tailgate when parked, some through holes in the rearmost underfloor compartment, some via the front floor, some via holes in the firewall

I use a dehumidifier to dry cars out. A wet car can have a gallon and a half of water inside

The water is coming in at both corners and also at aerial- Nick is it important/ possible to get it completely dry or use a dehumidifier every so often? Will try the sealant first

Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack cure is not widely available in UK- I ordered it off Amazon from a boat maintenance outlet- it is FANTASTIC!! Well worth a buy if u are leaking in places! Thanks again for the help

The guy who put the new seal on mine said that over time the seals contract a bit and pull away from the metal/glass. Not sure if its true but a new seal certainly solved it. The aerial should be easy to solve. Take off the plastic outer cover and put some sealer around the aerial in the hole.
It would be better to get completely dry. You would be amazed how much the carpets/foam soak up even nowhere near the leak. Ours was damp half way across the boot carpet before it was fixed.
