I would always get a quote from an MB parts dept. first - there are certainly some parts that are shockingly expensive, but equally there are many that aren't. Nothing to lose by asking.

Just as an aside I have MB supplied batteries (made by Varta, perhaps?) in my Vito and R129 - they are 16 and 19 years old respectively so the quality seems OK 
The R129 is low mileage and kept on a maintenance charger but the Vito just gets driven (around 10k miles a year)

I have yes, that’s what led me to confusion
. They list monroe but I was unsure on their quality so I cancelled my order. Hopefully main dealer will have some better info tomorrow.ray_hennig

I think they listed Monroe for my 124 Sportline but I opted for Sachs. No complaints after 6 years.

I would recommend MB Newcastle, they were very helpful to me and delivery was very quick
