Hi all,

I've just taken delivery of my 2006 56 Plate C180K SE Kompressor, Panoramic Roof, and she is an absolute dream, I'm so pleased with it.

I would like some assistant, and please forgive my newness to the site, and the fact that this question may have been asked before.

How do I connect my iphone 4 to the in built system? It's an Audio 20 system.

Many thanks in advance.

Dave-c180k.... :D

To connect a phone you need phone pre-wire and if you have it you will have the UHI exchangeable cradle connector in the armest. You can use any of the cradles on the page below.

Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes Phone/Bluetooth :: Cradles & Bluetooth Adapters

See UHI: Choosing Bluetooth Cradle for European Mercedes Vehicles

If you dont have phone pre-wire it can be retrofitted but it isnt cheap. The official retrofit will still require a cradle. Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes Phone/Bluetooth :: Phone System Retrofit Kits :: Phone retrofit kit for MOST based cars

Or there is an aftermarket option the Fiscon kit which works out cheaper and works exactly the same as MB phone pre-wire but wont require a cradle. Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes Phone/Bluetooth :: Phone System Retrofit Kits :: Fiscon Pro Bluetooth Phone Kit for Mercedes Benz (MOST based cars)

Or the mcar kit: Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes Phone/Bluetooth :: Phone System Retrofit Kits :: mCar Phone & Digital iPod interface for Mercedes NTG1/NTG2 vehicles

Thanks for the advice. I've not checked the arm rest for the connection which I'll do when I leave the office. I assume it's not there, so I'll have to get everything.

Would I be better getting the Comand unit with satnav and bluetooth or do you still need a cradle?

There is another aftermarket product that deal with, it is suitable for almost all audio 20 systems.

as long as you do not have ipod connection the unit provides Bluetooth connection and displays phonebook and dialling info the the factory display on the speedo, with control via the steering wheel buttons.

Price is £399.99 fitted.

You can fit an NTG2.5 based Audio 20 or Comand NTG2.5, it has bluetooth built in and wont require UHI or a cradle.

Thanks guys your help is greatly appreciated! I'll look into the options.

Hey guys looking at this item would this be compatablE with my 2006 c180

Mercedes navigation Comand APS W203 203 DVD C class NTG GPS NTG2 sat nav gps

This is a description of the item.

Celsus ICE - car audio accessories

also required would be adaptor harnesses so no wires are cut. Other benefit is that it could be transferred to another car.

hope it helps.

Yes it would fit but that is the older Comand NTG2 which does not have built in bluetooth.

If I were to get a GPS Navigation system etc, which would be best for an all encompassing system, i.e. If it's going to cost £399 or so to get my phone connected but £500 for a brand new unit maybe I would be better doing that?

Comand NTG2.5 if you want OEM, it will work with the stering controls and the cluster display.

Or there are aftermarket units like Dynavin that are shaped the same as the OEM units so are a direct replacement. Search the forum for the word 'dynavin' there are past thtreads about these units.

Or aftermarket double din units from the likes of Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine etc. Though as they are smaller than the OEM unit a fascia adpater will be required.

It personal choice and depends on how much you want to spend.
