Converting rain sensor intermittent wipers to standard intermittent

Hello all,
I recently had to replace the front windscreen on my W210 E280 and despite telling the fitter it had a rain sensor, I ended up without. As a result, the intermittent wiper speed (1) no longer works as it should. It now runs constantly on normal speed, so I have two speed 2s and no intermittent. As I still like the and use the car, I was wondering if it would be possible to convert it to have standard non-rain sensor intermittent wipers? I guess I would need to fit a different wiper intermittent relay and maybe the wiper stalk switch and if any programming would need to be done to tell the relevant ECU, if it has one, of this change? Does anyone have any ideas?
All because of a stone hitting the windscreen on the motorway, hey ho.

Thanks very much in advance for your help and advice.

If you advised the fitter it had a rain sensor and he fitted the wrong screen take it back and get him to fit the correct one

Sounds like it would be much easier to get the windscreen company back in to put the correct windscreen in

Edit: whitenemesis beat me to it!
