Need a replacement battery for the above and not sure which size it needs as websites show two or three sizes and can't see side of battery to check. Took a picture of label on top of battery but says too big to upload here.

You can measure the battery and compare that against the dimensions online surely?

Normally the battery model number is printed on top eg "096" "019" etc.

My E320 CDI uses the 019.

I've managed to shrink the file, does this help?View attachment 136367
Well it tells you the capacity and CCA values.

As said, measure the physical dimensions and cross check that with the on line information.

As long as the physical size is the same then it will fit. Also ensure the one you choose is rated at 96Ah and 850 CCA or higher.

I bought mine from Tayna. Good price, 5 year warranty on the Bosch S5 and fast delivery.

Thank you, will check when I get home, much appreciated.

You are welcome.

I would imagine that it is the 019 type as our cars have the same engine. My previous 320 petrol had a 019 as well.

The battery I replaced is still sitting in my work area and is still showing 12.4 V and 44% capacity.

A bit low for use in the car but useful as a 12 V supply if needed 👍👍

Tayna list the alternatives using the Mercedes part number:

I have just fitted an 019 to my CLK. Bought it on click and collect from Tayna, I took the option to go with EFB type to try and help with shortish journeys that I seem to be doing more of these days. Now I have said that I will probably get two Aberdeen jobs next week :wallbash:

Try your local mb commercial dealer - same battery as my c63

If not already aware, in addition to the size, make sure that the terminal layout is the same.

Measured it roughly and it's around 35 to 40cm. Rang MB commercials and offer was £140+VAT.

The Tayna site doesn't seem to have the exact code on my battery listed.

You need to accurately measure all parameters.

I thought we had established it was a 019?

Also, depending on how long you intend to keep the car, you should consider the warranty period.

MB-branded Varta batteries carry a 2 Year warranty.

Varta and Bosch branded batteries carry a 3 year warranty as standard ('Blue'), or you can pay a bit more and get a 5 year warranty ('Silver').

Most other makes will have 3, 4, or 5 years warranty.

Presume this is ok? in response to the post about measuring all dimensions, I can't get enough access to do that.
