Bit late on doing my annual costs, but got around to it on Friday
Year....Miles....MPG....p/litre....cost....ppm....+deprec
09/10..12479..33.1....107.52..1845....28.......48
10/11..13468..34.09...124.6...2236....30.......46
11/12..12209..34.53...141.62..2271....33......49
12/13..12245..35.08...142.9...2265....31.......44
Obviously as the car gets older, the depreciation decreases however I had to up it to 20% per year to get a more accurate figure, so for every year I have owned the car, depreciation has been $200 less than total money spent on it.
Presumably as I get older, I drive slower, possibly accounting for the slight increase in MPG, but 2 years ago I did bypass the EGR, so that may have helped a little.
I swap from Summer to Winter tyres, but looking at the figures there is no way of telling by MPG as to when, so among all the factors, it is marginal.
But, again, the best bit was spending 380 hours wafting along in comfort instead of thrashing a little white van, which is the alternative.
