Crank noise when closing sunroof on mercedes w211.

Hello everybody

My car is mercedes w211 2009 saloon.

Actually the soonroof slides smoothly and without any noise, but it is when it comes from open to close, and it reach the final position, that something seems to hit hard, just behind the sunroof against the metal body of the roof.

I am wondering if someone here has experienced the same problem?

funny enough i heard something similar as well on a couple of occassions yesterday.

Is your car on the worldwide sunroof recall list ? did you get the letter ? Cars included 2003 to 2011 , hundreds and thousands of them.

Will probably have no bearing on your problem , but worth a look.

I bought this car 10 months ago from a used car dealership.
Unfortunately I don't have any details for the previous owner.
