I am not sure if i saw a similar thread on this site or not..Have been having this annoying creaking noise..from the drivers seat, seems to sound like it is coming from the glovebox or the top passenger dash..when i have passenger next to me, they say not there and i say definately..it is so blatantly obvious..then touched the rear view mirror..
it is that darn mirror casing..placed a finger lightly on it..and noise had gone..it is the plastics causing the noise..damn thing has been annoying me for 3.5yrs now..
question is how cool  do i look driving with a finger on the rear view mirror..
any suggestions!!
Ps: another is also the seat belt plastic riser on the body frame..where do MB research get this people to decide on quality parts..the phrase" they dont built them like they used to " always comes to mind..

Odd rattles can be so annoying. I have one (actauly hopefully it's been sorted today), and every time the car goes in dealer says can't hear it. Thats funny, because ten minutes later on the motorway it comes back.

Fingers crossed - they are replacing passenger seat headrest. Not sure whether its to shut me up or a diagnosis though.

After 164,000 miles my 202 is completely quiet even with lowered suspension and 30 profile tyres.

Mine is too.

But only after and re-fitting the passenger A-pillar trim - started creaking from the bottom a month ago.

My old c200 was completely silent, my c230k however is irritating, there's one happening right behind my ear and one in the dash. I will get them sorted when i have a sunny day and absolutely NOTHING to do though.

Seat belt height adjusters buzz in the hot weather and the double roller blind rattles over rough roads..

Your creaking mirror

Had the same thing in my sport coupe, Took it to the dealers where they told me it was the springs inside the RVM, the go weak and rattle?

They replaced the RVM under warranty.

You could try opening it up and see whats inside?

My C220, bought used, had a rattling RVM, so I decided to take it apart since the socket was fine. The springs inside came off the plastic tabs, which were broken in bits. The 3Ms double adhesive tape was used to stick the mirror plate and the socket plate together (mine is an auto dimming RVM). Works great now and saving myself some cash.

Sat in an SLR few months back & was shocked to see it has the same RV Mirror, cheap plastic which creeks galore as soon as you breath on it

Depending on which finger, it would look really gangster.
