Cruise control won't select 9th gear...common?

What does the speed limit have to do with anything? Doesnt change the optimal rpm for a certain speed vs engine load... Stays the same regardless where the car is

Some members reported that after the Dieselgate software update the automatic transmission no longer shifted into top gear at 70mph, as it did before the update.

On the face of it you could think that it's odd having a car that can never go into top gear (assuming the driver adheres to the UK speed limit), and my point was that the update is universal and there are many other countries in Europe where the car will be driven at the legal speed limit and will still go into top gear.
