hi there all
i have a problem with my 2001 w203 c class merc, the cruise control does not work, it was fine a few weeks back when i took a trip to Sheffield, but on a recent trip to Heathrow the cruise didnt work i tried to push the stalk in and the cruse light came on and the mph was set but the car just slowed down, and now the display only shows a limiter, i was wondering if anyone had any ideas to fix the problem?? or knew where the problem lies? please help!! thanks to all regards merc man..

Push the stalk in again to turn the limiter off , and return the stalk to Cruise control function ?

(apologies if I'm stating the obvious and you have already tried this !)

I had that problem on w202 with cruise. I disconnected battery for a couple of minutes and it seemed to cure problem. The brain was probably having a bad day!

Sounds like you activated the speed limiter. You still control of the speed with the accelerator pedal, but it won't allow to exceed the set limit. Press the stalk in, ie along it's axis, to turn it off.

To activate the cruise control, ensure that the speed limiter is off, and when you reached the desired speed, push the stalk clockwise - this will activate cruise control. You can increase the speed by pushing and holding the stalk in a clockwise direction, loosing at the required speed. To turn it off, push the stalk forwards, towards the dash.

Thanks To All

HI THERE, THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUGESSTIONS, BUT GUESS WHAT DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY FOR A FEW MINS SEEMED TO CURE THE PROBLEM AND IT WORKS FINE NOW! SO THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED. REGARDS MERC MAN
