I'm in the market for a new desktop (tower) pc.
Having mooched around the web, nothing pre-made matches my requirements.
So currently looking for a custom-built.
I had one from PC Specialist years ago, but wondered if there were any up-to-date recommendations?

I always used to put my own together but for the last few years have used CCL Computers near Leeds.

I would imagine you'll get several replies with differing recommendations but CCL have always been spot on for me. They have an online configurator so you can build a PC to your exact requirements and they're quick on delivery and reasonably priced as well.

No underlying interests, just been a satisfied customer for many years.

I used CCL for a custom PC a couple of year ago and they were very good.

CCL is very good. In the middle of (self) building a decent desktop and sourcing many components therefrom.

Also, try PCSpecialist (Huddersfield). Had them build my custom laptop. (Cheaper for them to complete the build and deliver versus my cost to source components only).

I've always looked to these guys

I've had two tower systems from Quiet PC and have been very happy with both of them.
Funny you should say that: it was a close-run thing, but Quiet PC just clinched it and are currently building my new system.
Just got to get my head round how the hecky-decky I migrate everything now.
And I'm betting my CorelDraw X5 won't run on a Win 11 machine

Quick update.
Quiet PC machine now installed. Very impressed. It's quiet (unsurprisingly) and solid state drives are awesome.
Win11 takes a bit of getting used to but the best thing is..... CorelDraw X5 works!! So much for Corel saying you'll need to buy the latest version (at 600-odd quid). But they would, wouldn't they?
