My son picked up his car from The Car People tonight after work, he bought it from them so they offered discount MOT and fixed price service.

The Good

It was ready

The Bad

Service book not stamped, even though left in car and requested.
Two new tyres fitted, looks like a 5 yr old fitted them with the amount of black sludge lubricant spread over the alloys
New tyres looked low....tested at home 24lbs in each!!!
(38 lbs in rears....does not take a rocket scientist:doh:)
Locking wheel nut case sent with car.....lost, locker left in cup holder.

Moral of the story don't collect your car when 'service' department is closed.

Will complain tomorrow.....yet again, but most disappointing thing is the lack of care / QA

My son has had his 1.9 TDi Punto sporting!.... 12 months, its had new gearbox bearings / clutch & flywheel / master cylinder / turbo bearings / Rear brake caliper...Twice and failed door locks + assorted limp home issues. To be fair all sorted at TCP's expense...but a lot of hassle and revisits.

all on an 07 plate with 25k on clock!!!

Yes before you say it, its a FIAT.....Fix It Again Tomorrow.

Not a happy tale ! My wife has an Alfa Mito now two and a half years old and still waiting for a problem to occur so not all Fiat products are unreliable. And the Alfa is great fun .

Keep an eye on the tyre, it may not be sealed properly or have a faulty valve. I had a new front tyre fitted on a hire car (puncture so my liability) and I didn't notice it had gone right down overnight. Drove it to work next morning and the brand new tyre was knackered. Got it replaced free thankfully.

Had my Mito for nearly 2 years and it's been great!

Thanks, will get my son to check the pressures this morning.
