C220 cdi Avantgarde 2006
My C220 cdi Avantgarde 2006 cuts out when cold, either on idle on when I've set off. It hasn't ,( yet) done it when warm. I've just changed fuel filter which had a date of 2006 on it! Filled with BP diesel and put some STP in. Still cut out down slip road but re ignited and then ran like a train. MPG excellent ( I've had 3 ) and runs with no probs ,no smoke rattle or roll. Any ideas what else I can try,not giving up on her as she's got only 105k on her and she's drives like my old ,brand new one.
Any ideas much appreciated.

The car should have stored fault codes , might be worth a diagnostic scan ?

Air leak by the fuel filter ? After your recent filter change.
Dont think so,it did it before the filter change.Actually did change the filter as a measure to help sort it. But I will run the engine with hood up and check for any obvious leaks, I'm happy to try all obvious fixes before resorting to a diagnostic. Its just strange it hasn't done it when warm. Thanks for your input W1ghty , all ideas welcome. Its a good forum this is, the advice on fitting the filter was spot on.
