DAB Radio - Audio 20

Does Dab come as standard on the mercs? I am yet to check my 2005 model!

Still an extra cost item on most models I believe even on the latest "media savvy" models. But you would be so busy "interacting" with the full social media twitter/facebook experience or alternatively crashing off the road you won't have time to listen to the radio anyway!

The DAB radio on my E Class starts on the previous station. The only thing that sometimes happens is that I sometimes notice it has switched to FM.
I don't mean when DAB reception is poor where it switches to and fro (very useful feature), but that it's just gone over to 'FM mode', and I have to reselect DAB. Not a big problem though.
Generally very impressed with it - better reception than I had hoped for, very few drop-outs.
I quite often drive on the A66 between Penrith and Keswick and the FM signal has always been pretty poor along much of that, but there's a reasonable amount of DAB coverage even there, and when there isn't it tries FM. So the overall experiance is definitely improved - the dead spots aren't always in the same place if you see what I mean...

Did you ever sort this problem jonnyMercUK? I have just taken delivery of a C Class Coupe and my DAB radio always starts on Radio 5 no matter what station I had on previously. Frustrating!

It is a known issue- mine was fixed last week with a software update.

Craig1912 - Which dealer did you this done through? My SLK is at Mercedes Stevenage for the second time for the same issue (DAB always reverts to TalkSport regardless of previous station) and they claim to not be able to find a problem and that it "works as it should".

Very close to losing my temper with them.

I'm not actually too sure. It's been that long since I used DAB!

It was Mercedes Southampton- They had tried before (twice) but the latest software update (around Febthis year) fixed it. I now have the grey colour scheme rather than the previous yellowy. Mine always switched to Gold FM regardless of previous station.

I resolved mine a couple of months back, I did a complete factory reset out of range of the offending station and that cured it, it has been working fine ever since

Hi asinrutee - How do you do a factory reset? Also, my problem is with TalkSport so I'm not sure I could go out of range.

The dealer I took mine to (Stevenage) apparently did this reset twice, and neither time has worked.

Ah, I've already got the grey colour scheme. Will have to push them again.

I Copied this from the online manual

You can reset Audio 20 to the factory settings. Among other things, this will delete all personal data (e.g. phone book entries), and all system settings are returned to the factory settings. A system reset is recommended, e.g. before selling the vehicle.
