Is this the one which came with the car you bought or aftermarket, please tell us more?

I am looking for one that can fit in my existing cd/radio.

Alfie, do you sell a DAB radio to replace my audio 20 on a W211? and if so any extra wiring required?

i have the mercedes optional dab radio in my e350 i must admit i think its great a wider choice of stations and clearer than listening to radio 5 on mw

Radio is not usually that entertaining anyway, invest the oney on an integrated ipod connection.

The Mercedes DAB isnt built into the headunit. It is a seperate module which can be added on. It is not cheap to retrofit (IIRC about £700+ for the tuner, wiring and aerials). Not sure if there is one for the W211.

There are aftermarket DAB radios you can use in the car via the aux input if you have one. http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/DAB_car_radios.html

It's an MB option that as far as I know get's fitted when you buy the car new... TBH I was always sceptical about DAB radio in cars but so far so good. I can't fault it.

On the broader subject of musical entertainment in cars - I have 84,000 MP3 tracks on a hard disk - I'm gradually working my way through them but any number of large capacity SD cards probably won't do the job.......

I had DAB put in my E350 when I ordered it and have to say it was so far a waste of money. Not MB specific, but I just don't think DAB in a vehicle works.

Whereas FM goes a bit crackley when the signal is poor, DAB cuts out completely. This is useless to be honest and I would rather listen to a slight crackle than complete silence on and off.

I have it in the S-Class which was an option when i bought the car. In London and Home Counties the DAB reception is fine, i think it depends where you live as not all area's are not up and running yet.

no mercedes option for DAB on the older cars (inc 211) i looked into it and have been told it cant be done wit hthe new DAB unit found on the 204`s etc.

only option id aftermarket add on and integrate it in.

I've just bought a 2010 E class convertible. It's got DAB but I use the term loosely as it's pants. I barely get any reception. Can anyone advise how I can sort it to get a proper reception, or let me know who best to contact for advice? Cheers
