Hello all! New to this board. I have just bought a 98 C240 Elegance for my father to replace his old 1994 BMW 525TDS. When I bought the car the heater panel illumination wasn't working so i managed to changed the bulbs for that. However I have noticed that the switch panel that controls the headlights, foglamps and headlight aim level is not lit up. 2 questions a) should this be lit up? and b) if so how do you access the bulbs to it? This is a list of many things to do on this car to get it upto to A1 standard....well near enough! :)

a) No - it does not light up !
(its a feature - not a fault, of course !) - either cost saving on the part of MB, or to avoid a reflection in the drivers window - not quite sure which, as it lights up in other models.)

b) n/a !

Sorry :(

I've got the same problem, with the right hand thermostat and vent direction dials not being illuminated. On my facelift 202 the dials are all in a pre-assembed module, with a 210 part number. Is this easy to open up, and what kind of bulbs are inside?

TIA

Tim
