Date on New Tyres

SWMBO took the car in to have 4 New Tyres fitted on the E350cdi as I was rather under the weather.

Have just been out to have a check wasn’t too happy regarding the New Tyres date stamps

Front near side. 4423
FrontOffside. 0223

Rear near side. 3523
Rear offside. 3523

Obviously SWMBO was not aware of date stamping on Tyres , I was just grateful she took the car in to have the new Tyres fitted for me.
Is it worth getting onto the independent who fitted the tyres ,

Rule of thumb is normally within 18 months old, I wouldnt worry about it.

UV light degrades them, so unless they were sitting outside on a forecourt for a year or so, they will be fine.

From memory, the tyre manufacturers' recommendations are that new tyres can be fitted to the car if they are no more than 6 years old, and once fitted, they can be used until they are 10 years old.

BTW, personally, I wouldn't worry at all about fitting new tyres that were manufactured a year ago. But not having the same manufacture date on all 4 tyres, now that's something that would really drive me nuts...
