Hi

i am new to mb club

does anyone now where in northern ireland i could get my 2004 cl65 top speed de-restricted?

thanks

rk

I recently got a Brabus D6 kit fitted by my Indi in Cambridge who mentioned he had the gear to delimit it but never took him up on it. I`ll ask him what`s needed to do it. My mate in Carrick mentioned his father used an Indy over there somewhere so I`m guessing he`s a possibility if he has the equipment. I need the details myself as I`m moving back at some point soon so I`ll let you know what I find out.

He used Murray Motors in Dunmurry. My indi in Cambridge mentioned that he has this option on his Star developer system however the garage will have to have paid for the plug-ins to allow these options to be modified. He`s also told me MB are clamping down on garages getting hold of star developers hardware/software so unless someone has this option already its going to be difficult to get hold of.

Btw who do you use for your servicing?

cheers for that Tebs.

i have been told that DMS automotive provide good remapping for the cl65 bhp to ~680 and 810lb/ft - anyone else heard any feedback on this upgrade.

i usually get my servicing at MB portadown

Cheers RK. I might give MB portadown a try when I get back.

Stupid question time.

Why ?

It's a modification that would potentially void your insurance. Declare it and your premium would go through the roof.

Is 155mph not fast enough for you ?

Why not? if you can afford to run a cl65 amg, I'm sure insurance isn't an issue!

I wouldn't remap the 65, I hear you might start having issues, a member on here did and started having issues, think he had his re-maped by DMS as well..

612bhp and 1000nm isn't enough?

I was referring to delimiting it! :)

Thanks guys, I was just considering remapping it. I don't really want any more bhp or torque it was the delimiting aspect of it I was interested in. As for example the cars wipes 911 Porsches up to 155 but then the guy in the Porsche can motor on past solely because they are not limited at 155.

Do you know if mb can delimit without changing any other aspect?

As mentioned member "Maff" here had his CL65 remapped ... seem to remember at least one turbo going as a result. That was a good few years ago too i.e. the car would have been relatively new at the time. Would I risk it on an 8 year old one? Nope.

I'm sure it's possible to only remove the limiter, but make sure you can get tyres rated for the higher speeds. I know this has been the limiting factor with some cars.

I hate it when that happens to me. It really puts a downer on my trip to Sainsburys.
