Dealer not paying up for part exchange

To be fair though so many people fall for scams that are very well publicised and have been for years. There have been cases where banks have warned customers that they are being scammed, but still people go ahead. I don't mind banks paying more attention to transactions, irritating as it can be.
Agree. I think what my issues come down to is the lack of communication.

And I googled the message from the buyers bank and the FAQ does state that due to the size of transaction additional security is required.
I'm aware that one-off large payments from personal bank account to personal bank account (or occasionally personal account to business account) can trip a requirement for security checks, but I'm surprised this is a requirement for a business to business or business to personal transaction.

In a business environment you would normally submit a BACS payment run to your bank and as long as the payee details (sort code, account number and name on account match) that's the end of it.

Who is the bank, out of curiosity?

A 'blue' one :)

So they (bank = they) say that delayed payments are released at midnight the following day. Has it ? No lol ... can the dealer reach the bank ? No ...

Funny is - I left said bank as a consumer because they were crap and actually had to go almost legal on them back in 2007 when I had my own ltd. company ...

Anyway, as soon as I saw the bank's name it made all sense ...

Sounds like nonsense to me. I transfers similar amounts ( and rather larger) to customers all the time....more just buying units from them rather than PX return amounts. Been here 20 years and apart from the early days where it could take 48 hours its never been anything other than instant....most customers check their accounts on their phone to see it going in!........one recently even asked to use my PC to check....cheeky git!!!
