Deer whistle

My journey to work includes a lot of travel through forests and areas prone to deer.

In the last four weeks, despite taking care I have had three near misses.

I've seen on the web deer whistles you can attach to the car to try and warn the deer. Has anyone tried them? Do they work?

Trawl the US-centric motorcycle forums on the web and you'll find lots of pictures of motorcycles that have crashed into deer - normally the deer whistles are clearly visible in the photos

In short, it's a bit like taking an umbrella with you so that it doesn't rain...
