Dell D400 Laptop

Hi All just had a Dell Lattitude D400 laptop given and trying to set it up for my daughter its got a very annoying feature of the keys click every time you type, how do you turn it off as it seems to be independent of the volume settings and mute, please help its driving me mad
 
have a look in Start-settings -control panel-keyboard and see what the options are

Press F1 at boot and see if this feature is in the bios.

I cant recall whether it is or not but if if it clicks before you boot into windows, it'll indicate whether its a bios or windows function.

What a top man you are quite correct it's in the bios, would never have dreamed of looking there, thanks so much that a pint I owe you;)
 
Ignore, took too long typing ! Doh

Have you also tried selecting a different sound scheme

Control Panel > Sounds And Audio > Sounds Tab then select scheme
