diesel particle filter

If the lights on and a good run at high revs won't clear it you need to visit a garage who will hook a computer up to the car and do a forced regeneration

My mileage has just dropped dramatically from c.20,000 to c.10,000 miles a year, the diesel has gone and been replaced by a petrol motor
It'll be lovely feeling the heater work in the winter[emoji1]

Regards all

As above, sold my diesel for a petrol. It didn't make sense to make specially long trips on the motorway just to keep the DPF clean.

There is no harm in keeping the diesel if you like the car and the feel of the diesel torque. You just need to keep an eye out on how much short/ town driving you have done v's motorway driving.

Some say that regular use of premium Diesel fuel prevents DPF issues on cars that do not get to be driven on motorways.

I am currently using Shell V-Power Diesel on my Diesel Kia - all good so far, but time will tell....

However this is supposed to be preventive maintenance, so I am not sure if this is applicable also to when the DPF light is leady on.
