Hi

I've recently purchased two good-branded tyres. The tyres are brand new but are different brands to each other.

Am I best to put both these on the rear of the car or put them on the front (which is the tyres i need to replace)? or doesnt it matter, or is the practice bad anyway? I have ran cars with different tyres before without issue.

i intend to get wheel alignment done.

any advice would be appreciated. The tread patterns are similar but not identical.

thanks

Derek

Different patterns/makes> best on the rear. Worn V new > new on the rear

OK cheers. i'll swap them round prior to taking it to the garage to get them fitted.

I've been quoted £48 to do wheel alignment and to balance and fit the 2 new tyres. Sounds quite reasonable.

just hope the wheel alignment is done well as is definatly out (hence need to renew front tyres) and i know some places struggle to do mercs.....

alas no Wheels In Motion around where i live....
