couple of rookie questions, can’t seem to find the screen / mode to show the external temperature on the main & or drivers display & how do you increase the lighting behind the main controls on the centre console (2014 R231)

couple of rookie questions, can’t seem to find the screen / mode to show the external temperature on the main & or drivers display & how do you increase the lighting behind the main controls on the centre console (2014 R231)

On UK cars, the external temperature display in the instrument cluster is replaced with the speed display in Kmh. Of you switch to the 'standard display' - showing the digital odometer - the external temperature will appear.

On some cars it is possible to change the instrument cluster from UK to EU using STAR, if this is of interest then send the VIN by email to [email protected] and they will tell you what can be done.

For the instrument cluster lights, check if you have the black button (looking like the odometer reset button of old) behind the steering wheel, if so then twist it gently to either side.
