I'm Back in a Benz: 2016 CLA45 S/Brake Previous: C250Cdi Est AMG Sport + Auto, E220Cdi SE Coupe.
Done a bit of research and they seem to have been a bit troublesome in the past....can anyone comment on current cars?

I really like the idea of having one, but rattles do annoy me.....

Need to decide on which car to go for!

Ps sorry, should have said, I'm looking at current C class, estate in particular.

Had a C Class with pano roof at the weekend. It didn't make a squeak.

I've owned two W211's with Pano roofs and neither of them rattled.

Thanks for the feedback chaps!

Its an option that I would like as, apart from the obvious benefits, I also think it will help an all black interior.

Reckon I will go for it....and if its any problem then they'll have it back!!!!

No rattles on my new C350 saloon. The pano roof certainly lightens the whole interior of the car so I always have the blinds open.

OK, deposit paid :)

So this thread now closed....dont want to hear of any problems now!!!

Rain gets through mine all the time...

... I forget to close it!

Had mine for 9 months. I've got the all black interior and Iridium Silver. The contrast is excellent and it is light and airy internally. Roof never rattles. Stuck on the M6 today in Birmingham - was able to work on my tan with the roof open - worth every penny!

Only squeak I get is from the dashboard around the climate control. I haven't got the will to take it to MB for them to fix and and then mess up my spotless interior.

Don't the C class with rain sensor automatically close the roof?

mines never rattled or creaked

Even when its in the tilt position?

Apparently not..

From the online handbook

"The rain-closing feature is only available for vehicles with a rain sensor.

If the key is in position 0 in the ignition lock or if it is removed, the panorama sliding sunroof closes automatically:

if it starts to rain
at extreme outside temperatures
after six hours
if there is a malfunction in the power supply
The panorama sliding sunroof remains raised at the rear in order to allow ventilation of the vehicle interior.

If the panorama sliding sunroof is obstructed while being closed by the rain-closing feature, it opens again slightly. The rain-closing feature is then deactivated.
The panorama sliding sunroof does not close if:
it is raised at the rear.
it is blocked.
no rain is falling on the area of the windscreen being monitored by the rain sensor, e.g. because the vehicle is under a bridge."

no rain is falling on the area of the windscreen being monitored by the rain sensor, e.g. because the vehicle is under a bridge or the kid next door has covered it with duct tape :D

Am lovin the pan roof now I've had a couple of months with the car and 2 days when it's not been pi$$ing down.........yup, I'm in Scotland; I don't know why I bothered!

However, aesthetically it's nice (against a white car in my case) and I never close the blind, as the extra light in the cabin is a bonus.
