Door Handle Mod / HOW TO

Im sure its virtually impossible to lose that screw - I bet only 1 person has ever done it :)

99% sure your garage is trying the wrong hole.

Hey Killer,

Alright excellent, yeah that's probably the case maybe you could put up a pic of the right hole as well.

Thanks.

Hey Killer,

I got the car back, and noticed that the passenger (left) hand door doesn't open easily anymore? To open it you have to give it a couple of big pulls to the end of its extension and then it will open the door.

Obviously they have tried to fiddle with it and then called me to say they can't get them off (they didn't even put the seals back correctly so I can see they have tried lol).

Do you know what could have caused this? I will be taking it in on Monday morning to get them to fix it, but if I could fix it myself (maybe it is a simple screw?) it would save some trouble.

Thanks.

Also, the interior door panel is off at the moment as I have just wired the W210 Mirror for that side, could they have stuffed with any of those screws on the inside of the door that could cause this?

W202 door handles - removal

The photos in this thread seem to have disappeared - is there any way of getting them back? Am thinking of doing this mod myself and although the text is very useful, photos would also really help.
Thanks.

Dont!

How ever good the paint job is, they will start to chip in time. Better off going for the W210 handles m8!

I'm sure you're right but I'll still need to remove the originals :) - the missing photos seemed to be of the removal process itself.

BTW did you find that handle?

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread but I need to remove the door handles for the respraying of my doors (when it was resprayed by the garage they decide to just mask off). They have agreed to respray them again with the handles removed.

My question is does anyone have the pictures for removal of the handles that would go with the text of the OP.

Have you PM'd the OPer? He/she may have defected, but was on only a couple of days ago.

If you remove the door rubber that goes around the door, in the area behind the door handle you will see a hole using an allen key 3 or 4mm (i think, can,t remember exactly sorry) loosen the back off the handle but be careful not to loosen all the way as you could lose it inside the door.
The Allen key holds the small section of the door handle in position, remove this and slide the main body of the handle to the rear of the car and remove.

You will need a really long allen key otherwise a standard one + a pair of pilers.
