Hello everyone!

I have a 2010 Mercedes CLS 219 and today, I noticed the passenger-side door mirror only very slightly opens/closes on locking/unlocking the car so I have to manually open/close the mirror myself.

I was wondering what the cause could be and how I can resolve this issue? Many thanks in advance.

Use the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel and go into the Convenience settings and scroll down to Auto Fold mirrors.
Turn them off, click OK, then go back and turn them on again and click OK and leave. I found re enabling the function got them working again properly.

Thanks, I tried this but unfortunately it didn't work

Hi . Do you have to fold them often ? Reason I ask is on older MB's like mine (2006) the wires feeding the mirror glass/movement functions are very thin and failure is common , as a result constant folding of the mirrors is not advised.

Might be different on newer models like yours, but it's annoying when one (or more) of the wires breaks as you have to (normally) remove the entire inner door card to unplug the mirror connectors and get the soldering iron out.

As a result I personally only fold my mirrors when absolutely necessary. One of the joys of owning a 15 year old MB with 150K miles on it :p
