Hi

Just wondering is there a DFF Scanner or someway I could monitor the soot content in my DPF.
Also is it possible to force a Regen?
I bought a icarsoft i980 recently but does not appear to have the facility.

The MIL light came on yesterday and I discovered two codes. P2454. P244B from iCarsoft.
Both relate to the DPF and Sensor.
Brought it to the mechanic and they changed the sensor. (120 euro)
I realise my car is the likely candidate for those problems as all my travelling is city driving.
Any help, much appreciated.

I thought the latest icarsoft MB2 could do this too.
But I may be wrong.

Just got the scanner to try regen! Don’t bother, don’t work!!only going to keep it because it reads codes and deletes,

Well the latest icarsoft mb2 has the regen already,if you have a earlier one you need to download it from icarsoft.

Do you think I have not done that? It’s brand new latest model AND updated !!! It does not work for regen!! Did I think it would? No, and I was right

Is there any another way to monitor the soot levels in the DPF?
It appears to me there's no warning levels, not even light displayed on the dash.
Disappointed with the iCarsoft, i980, as the main reason for purchasing was to identify these levels.
My intention was to sell it and upgrade to the MB V2.0 but now that's questionable.
Appreciate the replies!

My iCarsoft MB v2.0 has a DPF Regen option, but my car isn't Diesel, so I can't test it.

The latest iCarsoft MBII v2 does DPF regen, but not for all models. Ironically it does the W211 but not W212. But it does monitor ash and soot levels for all

Annoyingly I bought the latest Icarsoft so I could monitor my soot levels, and it doesn't display them for the W205.

Same here. Just came today and can’t see an option to monitor the soot levels on my w205. Software updated too.

That was my Whole reason of buying it. Bought it from eBay but don’t know if I should return it now as I have a basic one for eml fault codes.

Have emailed icarsoft support to see if any updates out to fix this

Have you updated it . Think the current software is 11.70

I'd be surprised if it couldn't , haven't looked at dpf myself but it told me the air filter was 8% full !

Yep. Updated to latest revision and no w205 for dpf

Ps it said my air filter was 10% full when it was replace only in Dec

My MB v2 will tell me the fill level, ash and soot content but won’t do a forced regen, I plugged it in and went for a drive the other day and you could watch the fill level drop right down from around 80% to just 4%. It was done during a normal drive over 20 miles.08ACB886-F19F-4953-B366-6CB83EEE5D61.jpeg

Is your car a w205?

If so, What options did you go into to get the above?

Mine is the A207 model with the OM651 engine. I can’t remember how I got to the menu but will check tomorrow for you.

The MB 2 has a DPF filtdr monitor under ECU module. It also allows you to do two things : calculate the soot content and regeneration. Funny enough on my car i had to recalculate the soot content as the old DPF sensor kept reporting 400%, putting the car in limp modeand refusing to do any cycles. New sensor and a recalculation followed by a forced regen, car is down to 20%.
Keep in mind you need to process all other error codes beforehand so this might be a gremlin best left sleeping...
