Duovalve/coolant question

Hi all,
Going to clean my duovalve the weekend, I've read numerous threads on this but can't find anywhere if I need to drain the coolant first?

When mine was replaced, no draining was necessary. Put a clamp on the hoses so you don't lose coolant.
