E 280CDI Estate
Hi,

I have a E280 cdi 2008 model estate. I had it diagnosed recently for a very long start and was advised it requires a complete set of injectors due to fuel pressure leak off. I have sourced a set of Bosch injectors part number 0445115027. If I install these will they require to be coded into the microprocessor/management, or are they plug and play. Advice will be appreciated greatly.

Many Thanks.

I have a similar problem with my 2007 I just leave the key in pos 2 for 10 seconds before trying to start. I've read that the seals around the plastic fuel pipes is where the vacuum is lost but not got round to looking at fixing mine yet.

The Mercedes specialist garage carried out a leak test and reported it would require injectors, i have tried leaving the ignition on for a period of time several times before cranking, unfortunately it did not help. These have the piezo injectors. The specialist garage at one point said they may or may not require coding, then the technician stated they would. replacement cost including injectors is in the region of £1800. So I am looking for a more economical option, I could probably replace the injectors, but then the coding.

Thanks.

I think it 'needs' coding. Just be sure new injector part number is right. Coding makes 'fine tuning' for the injector and wrong coding usually can be noticed only uneven idle or run, if any. And any indie with star diagnostic can make coding afterwards. BTW Have you asked refurbished injectors?
