I received the following from my dealer when I found out that 6310 have been dsicontinued and I enquired about changing my phone cradle - which the salesman assurred me I could do for £95.
"On the 27th April this year, we were notified as a Mercedes-Benz retailer, by the manufacturer, that the E-Class was switching to a UHI form of telephone pre-wiring with effect from the beginning of June production. (Mercedes-Benz Infonet Reference 'PM-0044 - Telematics Update - Telephones') This system permits a wider range of phones including:
Nokia 6210; 6310; 6310i, Siemens S45, 45i, C45, M50,MT50, ME45, Siemens S55, C55, M55, Sony Ericsson T610, T630
Your car was built in March 2004 and delivered on the 1st April 2004 and unfortunately pre-dates the transition to the UHI system. "
Having spent over £500, I am expected to cough up another £1,000 for a working phone kit.
Who else has the same problem?
