E class to be replaced by E class!

well.....went to the dealer today and salesman who dealt with us wasnt in (probably hiding from us) lolz but the peson who we spoke to (not sales manager) took us into a room and showed us all cars on order and was saying that our car is built (we already knew that!) (it was supposed to have been built on the 20th, 21st and 22nd) and he then said tht the car had left the factory and is in transit. sounds good but do any of use whop have taken deliveryof new cars (especially brian and richard who are New e class owners) know how long it took to get their car from when it left the factory?

well thats the update on my car! hopefylly it will some soon

went to the dealers today.....he said car's arriving on the 7th and should be ready by the 10th. lets hope everything goes to plan now

Seems the E Class has had a price increase Akmal,

Has that been renegotiated since yours should have come in Sept and has been delayed.
By the way what kind of discount can be had on the new E say E270 these days?

well, im going in to the dealer on tuesday to negotiate the price increase!
as for the discount, we managed 3%:bannana: which turned out to be abt 1k:bannana: which was back in april. this was for an E320 CDI. dont know for the E270!

I assume that 3% was with No part-exchange M8.

I didn't get a discount on the new E320CDI but I got about £1500 more than I was expecting on the E280 I part exchanged.:bannana:

nope.....no part ex! but at the time when i read the what car magazine and the top gear magazine. there target price was 700 and 800 pounds off! i think we did well with the discount and we got free mats

The target price for new cars is what is achievable at negotiation at the dealers. It is now around £1000 lower than list for most new E class models. However carfile can beat target price by another 1% saving around 500 towards metallic paint or something else.

With new cars what you make on reducing the list price is what u lose on part exch. A good part exch can be just as good as a good discount on list. A good list and part exch is ideal though.

I wouldn't pay more than 27k for E270( even though list is 28.7 now). In fact I was offered the 270cdi for 26.3 back in May03 and another 4% off extras. Finances weren't in shape so I held off till new 5 series was launched . Now seems like the new E is the better buy. I wouldn't buy direct thro dealer since when i bought my car last time i think i may have overpaid a bit. Salesman are too pushy and good in getting u to sign and always act as though they they doing you a favour.

I noticed your car is arriving on the 7/10. Mine is arriving on the same date as well, but in Australia

I was surprised to see that you were told it would take 3 days from arrival date to get your car ready. I was told mine would take 10 - 14 days.....I wonder if there's something funny goin on with my dealer

No notice of any price increase over here. I hope I'm not in for a rude shock.

So what's your colour combo? And is it the avant or elegance?

hiya mate,

my car left the factory on the 26th of september! we were supposed to have the car on the 26th! maybe thats one of the reasons why were getting our in 3 days. according to brian on this forum, you have to push the salesman to get your car ready quicker otherwise they can take up to 2 weeks! GL with your car and hope to see pics of you car soon

We ordered an E320 CDI in Tealite Blue, With Full Grey Leather, Parktronic, Luxury climate control, (thermotronic?) Heated seats Front and rear and Keyless-Go. Cant wait!

I was in my local dealers on Friday, four new cars arrived. They were sorting out Priorities of delivery, and one car was promised on Saturday. The Garage guy said Monday was more realistic.

So it can be done, but don't rush them that much as they could miss something on the "Inspection".
