E220 headlamp replacement

Hi.
I need to replace a headlamp for the dreaded yearly medical test.
I have a replacement part but am wondering if anyone has done this before and how big a job it is.
Last time I did one it was on a laguna. And I had to remove almost the full front of the car lol.
Also can the light unit be opened to clean it as the glass is filthy inside on my replacement.

Dont worry about this one.
I managed it with minimal fuss.
Managed to just replace the glass over the existing light unit which meant I could clean it too. Except for the fog light bit that you cannot get a cloth under lol.

All in took about 3/4 of an hour.
Reasonably easy job.
Just have to ensure headlamp alignment is ok now.

is this from w124 if so how much was the glass and was it facelift one pls advise on the cheapest place to get them from

Mine came with the car when I picked it up on Friday.
However I have seen them on fleabay for around £130

Pretty pricy I admit.
However you could try a breakers I suppose.
I assume that's where mine came from as it was filthy lol.

Glass (example A124 820 51 66) is £67 from Inchcape.

Outstanding lol.
I am still new to this though. If it had been a Center exhaust section for a mk 2 seat Ibiza.
I could have probably sent you straight to it lol.
Although I was amazed at the quantity of panels and parts etc on fleabay for the w124.

Lots being broken .

FWIW if you ever need a set of front wings be wary of Ebay ones unless you can physically inspect them and verify they are rust free.

Once the rust is in them its always better to fit new parts as you will never properly get rid of it.

There is a company called Hadrians , who seem to do the best 124 wings , and they aren't big money wither.

If its a W124, Ian B Walker on here has one at the moment at a good price. Got a complete Bosch unit for £35 myself last week off ebay although not tried fitting yet.
