Hello people looking to buy E class 2007 cdi , motor looks amazing in obsydian black. realy bowled over by it. chaps asking £8200. one owner, 92000 miles. is it about right ? is there anything i should be looking for. any input would be realy welcome.

just looked, its a 280 with 7 speed auto box, any known problems ?

A full service history is more important than 92K

My 7g box was sublime.

You could get a price guide off Autotrader to see how it stacks up.

Hi That sounds about right. I'd give the car a good boot on a test drive to make sure the turbo has no problems/limp modes and get someone who knows what they are looking for to look at the turbo port inlet shut of motor. One of the few problems really with these cars. I loved my 7G S211 too - no problems for me but check in the optional 40K oil change was done.

well viewed the car, took it for a test drive checked all the paperwork, very impressed so am picking it up tomorrow." very happy chappy":bannana:.got a lot of extras fitted. as i recall there was a site, russian i think where you could punch in your chassis number and get list of extra options fitted ? is this still going and any point me in the right direction. thanks in advance for any help.

If you take the VIN to a dealer they will be able to print off the Oasis report. Manufacturing/sales and spec data for your car (if you can't get it from here).

It may be too new for the Russian site.

oh dear

im in panic mode now. been browsing on here and now wondering if ive got a pre facelift model ? it was first registered 31/10/ 07.thought i was getting face lift. looks like it from what little i know, but how can i be sure as ive heard older models had issues with gearbox, valeo rad ? whats the problem with that. have i got myself a dud ? any info please people.

'06 plate onwards is 'facelift'.

thanks thats what i like to hear, on this forum one post said for certain way to tell look for chrome surrounds two lines either side of foglights ? mine hasent ?

Yours will be a 57 plate which is definitely a facelift, here are a couple of examples, one with the chrome surrounds, one without;

The Classic (base model) does not have the chrome trim on the bumpers or on the fog lights.

The slatted headlight indicators are the facelift ones.

Look at my 55 plate indicators, clear with no slats, compared to the ones above.

And the curve down where the foglight area is, my car just goes straight across from foglight to foglight.

Also look at the mirrors: pre-facelift mirrors are "integrated" into the car, facelift mirrors are mounted on "plinths".

facelift or not ?

just an update for all those who answered my queries, thanks all. yes it had fluid and filter change (gearbox) huge sigh of relief, and from what people have said. slatted indicator lenses YES. wing mirrors on a plinth YES. SO IM VERY HAPPY.(facelift) plus it has full command, linguatronic,heated seats, you name it it seems to have it. so my next question is for obsidian black the best way to bring out that lovely colour ?
