Hi just wondering have noticed that my e300 with a lowish 179000 on the clock when its stood still at idle speed i get alot of feedback through the steering wheel my thoughts are to replace engine mounts has anyone else had this ?

Is the top of the dash shaking\vibrating, has it got worse over time? Sounds like engine mounts, easy job to replace both.

hi 91dm yes there is vibration not much more from frount door panels though i think im just going to change them anyhow as looked at history and cant see anything saying they had been thnx

You can check to see if they are weeping oil and if so that will probably be the problem. Relatively easy to replace with tutorials on youtube

At 179k miles the mounts will be badly worn out.

Is this normally considered a good replacement item at highish mileage/ age regardless? Mine's a 320CDi 210 and I was considering engine mounts as a matter of course over the summer sometime. i.e. before the originals start to fall apart?

I can imagine 300TD mounts being different to 320CDi but are they still relatively simple to change?

No need to fix if not broken. Before they go the usually weep oil and when they go you will really feel the vibration but no real harm should occur if you get them replaced quickly.

Great. Thanks.
