Hi all

If you were going for front shocks would you buy Bilsteins from ECP or go for the dealer part. Car E300TD Estate 1998

Comments please

I'd fit whichever is the cheaper. Aren't the standard shocks Bilstiens anyway?

Dieselman

ECP dont seem to distinguish between classic, elegance, avantgarde would worry that i would get different ride. Or am i being silly?

Hi

Checked prices today ECP for £52.50 ea + vat MB £68.13 ea + vat.

ECP shocks are for the classic they do not do the AG ones.

The thing i have noticed with the existing shocks is that the car dives a lot when braking hard, is this the shocks or springs thoughts please.

Thanks for the link, tried them their shocks when postage is added end up just slightly dearer than the MB sourced ones.

As you have noticed standard and sport shocks are different. Sport being fitted to AG models.
The diving is a result of overall suspension setup coupled with soft dampers.

New dampers will obviously improve this and stiffer ones more so.
