E320 CDI Exhausts

Hugh,
stainless does sound tinny, very different from the Mercedes sound, as for using the normal aluminised system. . . . . . no need to worry with motorway driving it will last a very long time.

you wont notice the difference on a CDI... there will be a minimal change in tone and longlife or any other outfit can make it as silent as you wish.

failing that most of these companies can also custom make the exhaust in mild steel... but that doesnt make sense to me due to the cost difference..

Hi,
My 320CDI (W210) has just failed its MOT on a leaky exhaust. The MOT station has quoted me over £1100 to replace the leaking part. Apparently it has to be a genuine Merc part, because they cant find any after market exhausts for it. Does anyone know if I can buy after market exhausts for this car.
I have contacted a firm that makes Stainless Steel exhausts for any car. They quoted me about £500 to replace the whole system. I have no experience of S/S exhausts, although I am told they can make a different sound.
Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks
Hugh

I know a good aftermarket place where they sell majority of car parts. They are mb specialists and are based in B'ham. I shall find their number this evening if thats not too late for u

do you mean KMS, if so there price for a genuine eberspacher one is £400+... same with Euro and GSF.
