I was wondering whether anyone had come across this problem before.
Yesterday whilst driving, without any warning the engine suddenly stopped, no malfunctions or anything abnormal on the dash were showing. When trying to restart the ignition lights came on as normal, but there was no sign of the engine firing and the starter turned the engine until it timed out. Tried restarting several times but the engine would not fire. After about 45 mins the engine started on the first turn and ran perfectly normally. It subsequently cut out again some 10 to 20 mins later and restarted after about 10 mins. I took the car for a test drive today and the same thing happened three times. The engine is not over heating and no other faults were obvious. The car in this condition is not safe to drive.

electrical feed to the shut down solenoid check all the connection ,in the drivers manual you will see how to shut the engine down manually this will give tou a clue as to where it is cheers

The car needs to have the fault codes read.

It could be as simple as a failed engine sensor but my money goes on the high pressure pump or fuel pressure sensor.
