E500 lhd

Suspiciously cheap and from a zero feedback seller

I spotted this a while back and was tempted as hoping to emmigrate later in the year and take it with me.
The grill though makes me wonder what other horrors lurk.
Having said that is it really that cheap?

Not cheap probably too expensive I think.

Called the seller when it first came up doesn't have much history and not the best colour combo either. Toe eye cover missing and the wing mirror is the wrong colour.

Might be other issues but not seen the car personally.

What would be a better Investment. This e500 or and equally priced newer e55?

As I age, the more I realise I need something to satisfy my midlife crisis. Would I investing a couple kf grand to get this upto scratch not be good money spent given the starting price?

If it is a couple of grand........can't imagine these are cheap to put right.

Both would be bad investments, but I suspect you would keep more of your money spent on the E500 than an E55. Just don't sell it when you've spent your money!

I have been keeping half an eye open for a E30 M3 - i think they make good investments?

Not at the price they are now.

No car apart from a few incredibly rare rich men's cars make good investments. Buy a car you want to own and enjoy, look after it and when you come to sell you might get your money that you have spent buying and looking after it back. That's if you are one of the lucky ones.

I think you are right looking at some old BMW magazines this evening E30 M3's dont appear to have appreciated much i the last 5 years. Longer term though maybe ... Only 768 convertibles made I think?
Been watching too much 'chasing classic cars'!

They weren't 'designed by Porsche' either. Simply shipped across the road to the Porsche assembly line and hand built by them to MB specifications.

Which is no bad thing in it's self !
