E55 2003 Good spec 18K

i wouldn't be able to have the self restraint to keep my license:devil:

Looks good but I personally cant stand the blue interior.
I think the photos are very cleverly done to minimize the blue sections of the seat.

I'm really struggling to resist to be honest, I've been thinking about this most of the weekend. I think the running costs would be too much for me though (with a new baby on the way).

i'm not sure the interior is blue, it may just be the weird indoor lighting

it's also advertised here and the seats look grey

quote from his ad on PH

"The car has had full dealer history and just been serviced along with being fitted with new front brakes and tyres. No silly offer refused this weekend. "

you should have rang him and offered £20 :)

it is a two tone interior .. the blue is definitely there .. not the nicest of blue :(

also no COMAND even though it has "Sat Nav"

Early 21's could not have COMAND, but I am not a fan of that specific interior colour coding.

If running costs are a concern then this is defiinitely NOT the car for you. The nitty gritty is that if you liker the idea of a 211 AMG then I would suggest the ideal car is out there with all the bells, with all the whistles and at the right price. These cars need spoiling and to neglect one will bite you big time.

I love the 211AMG and envy anyone that buys one.

Good luck with the decision

I'd love to, but I know with my right foot I'd always be getting the lowest mpg out of it and it would obviously cost me dearly (that's without any issues with the car).

Thats the good thing with having my current bus.

Almost anything I swap it for will be as economical. I'm guessing even the E55 with do 20mpg on a run?

E55 Real world costs.

If you are thinking of buying.....

I presently am getting an average of 21.9 mpg over 6,400 miles and 162 hours of driving. I reset this ahead of a 1,700 mile holiday to France late August and back home there is a mix of a 30 mile daily commute, 3 to 400 mile motorway trips plus usual general stuff in and out of town. So that is the real world average for me.

For the record the worst I have seen is 10 mpg from a real blast over 7 miles and the best is 25 - 26 mpg. I see this on a trip I make frequently Purley to Nottingham as all you can do is mix it with the crawl around the M25 and on the M1 early morning and late afternoon.

You don't buy an E55 for economy but real world I spend about £550 per year on fuel more than an E320 CDi in my business that does about the same mileage but with a lot less fun (!) and less than an E240 which is interesting. By the way my W210 E55 used more fuel for a lot less performance.

Service costs.

At 51,000 miles with Mercedes Tonbridge, including MOT, 16 spark plugs, supercharger belt, 8.5 litres of oil, filters etc £780 ex vat.

At 38,000 miles including brake pads 8.5 litres of oil, filters etc £390 ex vat.

Earlier services have all been between £300 to £500.

For a high performance quality car I feel that's reasonable and cheaper than two Audi A6 2.7 tdi's main dealer serviced that I run within my business.

As a comparison Daughters Fiat Punto annual service £223 ex vat, Daughters Renault Clio annual service £235 ex vat. Both at main dealers

Drive an E55 and you’re hooked!

Regards

Richard

PS Definitely blue trim you can see it on the picture or the driver’s door.

thanks rlowy, I'm out of it unfortunately, it would be too risky for me at the moment with a new baby on the way, I was extremely tempted though.

Gareth you look like you have a very nice E already good luck with the new addition.

Regards

Richard
