E55, autotrader, 4k

Very nice Mr.Motul. Always admired your taste in big mercs, especially that awesome E60AMG you had a while back.

So given the high tax and fuel prices how long do you think I need to wait until I can swap my 2000 E320 Cdi Estate (no command) for a 2000 E55 AMG Estate with command?

I keep thinking how nice it would be to have command fitted and buy a tuning box, but the cost of this and the problems with insuring a modified car would mean the sensible option is to change the car :)

My biggest concern is that it would be an unknown quantity and as it has cost a few thousand to bring my car up to scratch I would be hesitant to swap even if I found someone willing.

Leave it a couple of months and you can swap your 320 for a 55 and some cash...

According to my father who remembers the big recession of the 80`s he said Fiestas were worth more than 911`s, maybe a slight exageration (I have told him a million times about that,) but I have noticed that I can get a W210 E320 CDI for more than I can get an W210 E55, same spec, mileage and condition, its a good time to buy a big V8, just dont go to sell it around christmas time as you may still be suprised how much of its value has fallen off in the time you have had it, it does seem crazy that people now want fuel efficient tree hugging and more importantly cheap to run vehicles, when they actually look at the real life costs difference between a big AMG and a diesel they may realise it is not as much as they think,

Its a crazy world

I love the E55's. I love cars. But don't think I'd ever want to buy a green one! Especially a Merc. Come on, a Green Merc?

Whats wrong with green Mercs?

Not being biased of course with a Tourmaline green E280.

Are you talking about resale value?

Each to their own. Lots of people dont like Green cars, Gypsies especially, dont like anything in green,(maybe you live on a caravan site) but I am a fan of green and this car looks even better in the flesh than in the pics, sure, it will make it more difficult to sell, but I think the price and not the colour will dictate the interest, but I am still clinging onto this one at the moment!

Regards,

Terry.

Green or no..........surely no self respecting pikey would be seen dead in a car that old !
