E55 with identity crisis ...

+1

Is it me or is the tone of the advert just too aggressive?

'could just do with a new battery and thats about it..'

Because i'm selling an 8K car and can't be bothered to put a £100 battery on..:fail

I don't trust these cars, unless its Alps' car, as I know he does things properly with all OEM parts where possible.

The advert wouldn't put me off, but having seen the sellers feedback I would be suspicious of them being a trader in disguise.

Reason for selling is stated as "company car forces sale" but then lists the types of car that would be considered in part exchange?

Wonder what the tags are, hanging from the stalk. Odd for a private seller IMHO.

They look like clothing tags, so they can be worn for a while then taken back for a refund.

Did the dashboard alter between pre and facelift W211, it's just that the instrument cluster doesn't seem to fit very well.

Yep the whole advert is toned really badly and puts me off. Also the black wheels with diamond cut lip looks bad on a black car.

But I dare say that's the least of this cars problems.

Putting "Needs to be collected within 48 hours of sale ending or I will file an eBay case against your user id"

..at the start of advert is not a good way to sell !

Agree ... Interesting point and something you see a lot on ebay but doesnt motivate me to buy!

There is no doubt a lot of dodgy buyers on ebay but I think there are just as many dodgy sellers on ebay.

I am a bit of an ebay addict and have been for 10 years or more. I probably buy 3 or more items a day on average and its safe to say I get 5 or more cancelled bids per week by sellers not honouring the process. (Have had 3 in last 24 hours alone!)

"Not just any E55 though, this has had the full 2006+ E63 facelift conversion done to it!"

^^ It's had a W211 E63 front bumper fitted and that's it! the taillights are pre-facelift as are the headlights and wheels...

It's probably had a frontal bash, so they used facelift parts to repair it.

What's even worse is that the seller has his jeans tucked into his boots, That would be enough to put me off buying the car. You can trust any one who dresses in that manor.

Must be embarrassing taking it into Merc for a service and explaining the wrong badges on it?
