My W126 is a 1981 280 SE on a W Registration..could this be one of the earliest examples left?

Yours must easily be one of the earliest left in the UK. Even when Autocar road tested a 500SE it was a German lhd car & that was published on Oct 11 1980 so well done & good luck with the next 28 years.

Cheers it was registered 1 Apr 1981 in Silver with black MB Tex interior. It's pretty much immaculate. Will try to get some pics on asap. Wikipedia says the model was launched in 81 in the UK so mine could even be the earliest one left unless there are some from Jan/Feb/Mar that year. Is there a way of finding out?
To be honest I have had the car a few weeks and did not realise this until now. It is used as an everday day classic to go to work and also shows on a weekend!!:bannana:
