Hi everyone. My ECO start - stop is not working. I have an E220d (W213), and I have tried all your recommendations. Fully charged my main battery (do you know if there is a second battery that I need to charge?), drove the car for 2 long trips (80 miles each), changed the key fob battery, and still nothing. Any other ideas?
Thanks.

Auxilliary battery probably, not sure where it is on your car though.

Stop start in colder weather is a bit hit and miss, I was out yesterday for a decent drive and the light stayed amber (I normally turn it off anyway) just out of interest I turned off aircon and it immediately turned green then back to amber once aircon switched on again.

It does seem to require the battery be in a good state.

Thanks, I will check where it is on internet.

Thanks, but I have fully charged my main battery and still not working, and the weather is not that cold, 10 degrees Celcius.

What voltage do you have on main battery and aux ?aux battery.JPG

The Stop/Start on my 2013 car worked fine these past few days, I'm in London, so unless you're in a place that's considerably colder, then I don't think the weather is to blame.

As others said, find your auxiliary battery first. The QR code inside the fuel flap will show you the location of the batteries in the car.

check the voltage with the engine off on both batteries., My main battery was between 11.8 and 12.1 and this was enough to stop the eco stop start working. My 8 year old battery wasn't holding anywhere near max capacity and that stopped the system.
I fitted a new main battery and voila its back working again. and its damn annoying!! LOL.... Also my brake hold had stopped but is working again now..

Worth buying a CTEK to ensure the battery is kept up.

And, your sure that you not switching off the ECO by pressing the ECO button during start up ? (Apologies if it's too obvious a question)

You don't have to put up with Start Strain , permanently disable .
