You need to apply to Mercedes for a CoC for your actual car. They do not do generic ones
kc

But it isn't..... Euro 4 did not start until Jan 2005.

Ok, if you have then Im not doubting you......but it says a car does have to be Euro 4 Nox minimum on the ULEZ site....its done not say that a Euro 3 car that meets Euro 4 standard will be OK....they should make that clearer. I'm surprised they allow it to be honest.....opens the door for lots of arguments.

The ULEZ standards are:

  • Euro 3 for motorcycles, mopeds, motorised tricycles and quadricycles (L category)
  • Euro 4 (NOx) for petrol cars, vans, minibuses and other specialist vehicles
  • Euro 6 (NOx and PM) for diesel cars, vans and minibuses and other specialist vehicles

It clearly states that cars that meet the standards have been available since 2001.

2001 "Y" Reg is when nox levels were first recorded on log books. So say a Y Reg 2.3k CLK may actually be only a euro 3 but it can be "proved" that it matches the euro 4 standards for nox. A completely identical "X" reg 2.3k CLK cannot be proved to reach the euro 4 standard because it wasn't recorded (measured) at the time. Simples

And also my sister's SEAT "15" plate is a Euro 5 diesel with Ad Blue but doesn't reach the Euro 6 levels for nox even with the Ad Blue system. This is the whole reason why VW "cheated" a year later to get the recorded levels down and my sister is stuffed on ulez

My clk 55 is 2000 and I’m trying to make it ulez , any help , cheers
I think you can write to a department at MB in Milton Keynes to clarify this.

I don’t have the name / address but Mr Google will probably have this.

To reinforce Darrell’s point my 2003 Mx5 is Euro 3 and ULEZ compliant. I suspect that the CLK55 may well be in the same category. One of our AMG engine Whizzes may be able to this subject.

This one I just attach is ulez , and mine is not
