Egr fault s class 320 cdi

Hi could anybody point me in the right direction on a egr fault shown up by star, i have removed the valve and cleaned it but the car is still in limp home mode and still showing as a fault .star does not report any problem with the maf sensor.

What age is your car? I ask as the cdi engines changed with the facelift.

the car is 55 plate w220 125 chassis eng 648960

Did the code read something like:-

2346-002 "check system 'Exhaust gas recirculation control'. The air mass is too large"

If so it probably is an air leak on the intake to the turbo. My car had this.

Unmetered air gets in and the car goes into limp mode and directs you to the egr but in my case it was nothing to do with it.

thanks adam, the code is different 2355-002 but tha fault appears to be the same (the air mass is to large)
i will get my guy to check this out

Just checked the air intake from the air filter to the turbo and everything seems to be ok ,if anybody else has any ideas!
