i am still having problems with my c 220 cdi,if i disconnect the plug from the egr it stops the missfire and runs better, the problem is the em light comes on.
my question is if i remove the arm that operates the valve that opens/closes and blank the egr off with a plate.so the egr thinks it is operating correctly but in effect it is not.like peddling a bike without a chain.
should this work, what do you think??

Have you taken the EGR valve off and cleaned it up and checked it is working as it should do?

Removing the arm I doubt will stop it throwing an error.

Not it won't because the MAF will pick up the incorrect readings and throw it into limp mode

i am surprised it has not gone into limp mode now,as it is disconnected

there is a mod that has been used to overcome this, discussed on mb owners club
